I won a gift certificate to a local silver store a number of years ago from my son's yeshiva fundraiser. I think it was $1,000. I bought a kearah and silver kosos for the seder. Never would have been able to have that on my own! We enjoy it every year. Still can't believe it! We never win anything

I have won a quite a few times, large and small gifts and always got my gifts. I have never won a service. My friend won a sheital and had a difficult time with the sheital macher not giving her the time of day once she found out it was from a chinese auction.
