Irene wigs are great. They may be a bit more than 1k but definitely under 2, stunning, comfortable and last well.

Doppelganger Wigs (not sure about website but she is very active on instagram, and probably facebook too) sells high-end consignment and seems to have a very nice selection comfortably under $1000.
