what are the opinions among members here on wearing a sheitel color which is not you natural hair color (far off)
I am blond but blond sheitels are for some reason more expensive here and I personally think a chestnut sheitel looks more "modest"?

It’s very individual. But that’s not a far jump at all. Making a change that’s more than 3 or 4 shades different than your natural is more daring. blonde to chestnut is in the same family, many people born blonde become chestnut naturally with age. But again it depends very much in your skin tone and eyebrow / lash color.

Blondies can usually play around with their shades a bit more as long as it works with their facial hair.
But I have no idea how modesty comes in.
If hashem made you blond he doesn't need you to change it in order to feel more modest.
