I Too was thinking of buying Pickled tongue or frenchroast for Rosh Hashana and succos .
I usually make a mushroom sauce with that.

sautee onions till translucent , add mushrooms ( I cut it in smaller pieces) from can or add fresh.
I usually dice up a celery stick too .
I let cook on small flame for about half hour.
if you'd like a thicker consistency add tblsp of flour or corn starch.
oh and I spice it up with some salt , black pepper, garlic powder (or you can use fresh garlic crushed).

Ugh I saw it and it does look really "cow like"
All the recipes I saw seem very sweet I am just not sure which to go with (I don't even like sweet meat) Oh well we will see what I'll do.

How long does tongue last in the fridge? If I make it for the first days of succos will it last for the simchas torah? What about if I freeze it?
