Lakewood Playgroups

I recently moved to Lakewood and enrolled my son in a playgroup in my development. I don't really know people here so it was hard to find out much but one of my friends told me about this place. However from the first day the Morah has been really nasty. I would think she would try to make a good impression but instead she has been making me feel horrible. For example my son is not fully trained yet (he just turned 3) and I send him to playgroup in pull ups. The morah tells me the first day " I'm sorry all three year olds are trained and I can't change it" basically he'll have to sit in it all day. fine thats another issue but it was said in such a nasty demeaning way. I don't believe that every 3 year old is fully trained and she never asked me as a condition for accepting him. Also, a few days after playgroup started, I was coming up the steps to pick up my son and there was a child crying. I heard the morah yell at the child to stop crying already. Apparently this child was crying all day because he wasn't feeling well. I don't think it is fair to allow him to stay in playgroup all day and that my child should suffer. I also didn't like that they yelled at him. It's not his fault that his mother or teacher weren't being fair..poor child wasn't feeling well. I really want to take my child out of the group but I was told in Lakewood if you want to take your child out you have to find a replacement or you will be taken to Bais Din! I'm sorry but I didn't dream I would have such a problem and how will I find a replacement when I can't recommend this place. this is utterly ridiculous! Anyway guess I just needed to vent.

I live in Lakewood too and that is not true. If you take your child out for no reason then you have to find a replacement, but a valid reason of course you can take your kid out. I would take him out right away. There are so many playgroups in Lakewood that you really have to check out where you send your child too. Every person wants to do it bec. you keep your child at home with you. But there are some teachers who are unbelievable. I call at least three mothers before I send my kid somewhere. The problem is that the amazing teachers fill up right away, like I am enrolling my child for next year for three year old now. Also many teachers will give you attitude if your child is not toilet trained. You just have to find the right place. If you give me an e-mail address I could try to help you.
