I know this is kinda similar to another thread, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what and when to cook for shabbos. (We are going away for all the R"H meals. Very Happy ) What are you all doing? Are you doing your shabbos cooking on Wednesday? Will it stay nicely for 3 days? I guess what I'm looking for are a couple of simple (and yummy!) ideas for things that will stay nicely til shabbos... or perhaps a fun new salad that I can make on shabbos for lunch... I would LOVE some ideas. Smile Thanks.

I;m cooking on friday Sad I'm just gonna stick some chicken and potatoes and in the oven and make a salad. My chicken soup also better last until shabbos!

for shabbas lunch I like to make a big israeli salad-
cut up in small peices, cucumbers, red onion, red pepper and plum tomatoes toss with lemon juice, olive oil salt and pepper. Then I serve it with a big platter of israeli dips- chumus, techina, babaganoush, sauteed eggplant and vegetarian liver- its always a big hit

I'm eating home four meals so I'm making two different mains, both on erev yomtov. the only thing new for shabbos will be egg salad with the eruv tavshilim eggs.

And you're keeping it in the fridge or freezer?

I'm planning on making everything tomorrow and keeping in the fridge, hope it'll be good!

I buy 1 or 2 cartons every week, as a matter of course.
