I've noticed that my child walks on the inside of her foot. Is this something to make an appointment with her pediatrician for? A podiatrist? PT? What can be done for it?
Thanks!

Orthopedist first, and then possibly a podiatrist.
Good for you for catching that. The sooner it gets addressed, the better.

Thanks. I wonder if I need a referral for that or I can go straight.

Depends on your insurance. Mine is such that I can go to any specialist with no referrals ever necessary.

How old is your child? New walkers can do that but pls pls have it checked out by a really competent pediatric orthopedic specialist. My son did that and he ended up needing casts to correct it

I noticed it on my daughter and she needed orthotics. I spoke to a PT friend and he referred us to a very specific podiatrist for a certain orthotic design.
We happen to love our pediatrician but he did not think her walking was problematic. We only looked into it more because she couldn’t walk uphill like other kids her age, she would fall more than I thought typical, and some nights her knees would hurt. Bh I kept pushing until we figured out what was going on.

It may just be pronation that can be fixed by a hot dog type shoe insert or a different cascade dafo product.
Is your child under 3? You can get an EI eval for free. Tell the intake worker you specifically want a PT to do the eval. The PT can let you know which direction to go.

Dr. Louis Jablin (718) 439-8888
He’s in a neighborhood near boro Park. The specific insert we were told to request is the one “Bracha recommends”. It was created in collaboration with PTs.
My daughter has had them for almost a year, we are going for a follow up this summer.
