What's the weather like in Miami in July? Thinking of going with my kids there and wondering if it would be a disaster ?

It's hot and humid. You can go to the park for about half an hour let's say, and then you'll want to be back indoors. There are plenty of water activities and indoor activities, just don't plan to be outdoors a lot.

OP here.
Thanks for all the replies!
Is it comfortable to sit at the beach, or is it hot and humid at the beach as well?

DH was invited to give a few speeches in Miami in early July - all-expenses paid! - but after looking into it, he declined because he was told the weather would make it a miserable visit.

If you are on the beach and it’s breezy, and you can hop into the water regularly, that would be ok. But going outside in general it will be so hot you feel like you can’t breathe. At least I do.

The key is to be in the water as much as possible.

You can go to the beach in the late afternoon and stay out of the sun. Going to the beach earlier in the day is really not pleasant unless you plan to stay in the water the entire time. The sun is very very strong and there isn't a cool breeze.

It usually rains at least part of the afternoon starting mid July.

True (actually earlier than mid July). But it's usually very brief.

Thanks everyone for responding. Wish there would be a vacation place with minyan and food and good weather.
From the responses here I'm afraid we will be too hot to enjoy Sad
Any other ideas ? (Tickets from NY to LA is expensive so that's out of our budget. )

It’s hot everywhere! We go to Miami in the summer and love it. We happen to not be such hot ppl, but with lots of drinks and hanging out a lot by the water it’s great.

I went once in July, we really enjoyed it a lot. Even still spending most of the outdoor time in or near water only.

Be careful of sunburns though, especially at the beach (it reflects off water and sand)
It's easy to burn or get heat exhaustion
