Does anyone know if I'll be able to find kosher bread in Newfoundland/Labrador supermarkets?

I’m guessing your best bet will be dempters bagels. I’d call below to see if that’s true across Canada. (This is not going to be Pas Yisrael)

Our products that have the PARVE kosher symbol are Kosher. For more information on the Kosher status of specific products, please contact the Consumer Engagement hotline at 1-800-465-5515

St. John's, not St. John.

You might want to look into having food shipped from Montreal.

It is beyond easy to make your own bread. Any simple bread machine has a "dough only" setting, then you just bake the pitas or braids on a cookie sheet. YouTube is full of "how to bake bread" videos.

Breadman is a good machine.

A stand mixer will make dough too.

Hand kneading is good exercise, but with machines it is not necessary. Warm the water in the microwave.

Much less clever people than you have made bread. It has no more complexity than simple sewing. A few tries to get the hang of it, and you are on your way.

And if you make enough dough you get the fun of the mitzvah of "taking challah."

And you feel so clever when you make bread. Everybody is so impressed. Don't tell how easy it is. You save money too.

Wasn’t me - but if I was moving to NFLD I think I’d have many more questions beyond bread!

even if you rent an apartment it means you have to kosher the oven. Although I have a relative who lugs a bread machine on vacation.
