Ok I’ll be original - I don’t have Corelle - I have Luminarc. Love them they’re beautiful and similar in quality to corelle. Very difficult to break them

I've broken Ikea plates, they do shatter quite a bit but not as bad as you are describing.

I bought beautiful glass square dishes at Walmart.com. for next to nothing. Love them!
