Please daven for Alta Shulamis Rachel bas Yairel.
Sharon Polatoff is an amazing woman in my community, a powerhouse of chessed, who quietly goes about helping countless people in so many ways, and takes so many young families in the community (my own among them) under her wing, treating them like her own children. She has been battling cancer and was rushed to the hospital on Rosh Hashana, and is now fighting for her life. Please daven for her, bring in Shabbos early, make challah, any zechus you can!
She needs Rachmei Shamayim desperately!

I don’t know much right now. She was doing somewhat better on Friday and then last night there were urgent requests for tefillos at like 1 in the morning. Haven’t heard updates since but will post when I hear.
Mother’s name is pronounced “yay - rull”

They are having community-wide Tehilim at 11:30 this morning. Please join in at that time (or now!) if at all possible.

Update: Sharon is still in the ICU in critical but stable condition. It would seem that things are really really bad but kind of “balancing” at that level. Of course in the ICU things can very very quickly go from OK to terrible at any moment... and she needs to fully stabilize and then begin to build enough strength to endure the chemo she needs but can’t survive now.
The family has told us they have clearly seen the impact of all the tefillos being said: they honestly didn’t think she would make it through Rosh Hashana, but she stabilized and was even able to speak with each of her children. She has been up and down and continues to fight.
Please continue to daven, there is not a question in her family’s mind that it is doing tremendous things!

I completely understand the desire to know more and to be updated on the current situation. I only got the info I just posted late this evening. I will IyH try to update as often as possible but info has been somewhat limited. I will try my best to keep on top of this. In my conversation with the family tonight it was clear that everyone agrees that keeping people updated as much as possible will encourage people to keep davening and so I an hoping regular updates will be more possible.

Thanks for the update. It was a big shock to see how sick she is so the update is comforting. We should only hear Besuros tovos.
