I hate polishing but my silver tarnishes really fast.
A quick google search tells me that polishing silver damages the silver as a side point...
I called a place in Lakewood who cleans and lacquers candlesticks- but they charge around $200(!) a pair of candlesticks I also have a tray, menorah, kiddish cup ect... Has anyone tried it and was it worth it?
There is company everbrite that sells a do it yourself lacquer. Idk but I don’t want to take a risk on that one....https://www.everbritecoatings.com/silver.htm
What to do? What to do?

I (read dh) polish.
Lacquering is easy and convenient but needs to be redone every few years.
Additionally with lacquer you don't get the really shiny look.. it seals the silver so no air touches it but it also gives it a duller appearance.

Thanks for answering!
That doesn’t sound like a good solution then... who can afford it every few years?
What’s the best easiest way to polish?

What’s the best easiest way to polish? |
Easiest (least messy) - Weiman Silver Polish Wipes
Longest Lasting - Tarni-Shield (very messy)
Easiest Non Wipes - Hagerty Silver Foam

Do you have cleaning help? Can this be added to the schedule? I hate polishing too.

I lacquered my candlesticks. Love it that I never have to polish them.
If youre in Brooklyn I can recommend someone.

Do you know the price range I can expect to pay for a 4 branch (5 candles) candelabra? Is it like $100 or closer to $200?

I just polished using Goddard’s. Worked quickly but there were some clumps of stubborn black dots (how in heavens name did they get there?) that refused to budge. I even tried a toothbrush (which I probably shouldn’t have) and couldn’t get it all out.
Any of the below you mentioned good for that?
I’m going to try the wipes for lazy shabbosos. Thanks!

I use the wipes most often since it's such a tiring job. The silver still needs to be rinsed but it's much quicker. And though still messy, much less messy than any of the polishes.
Did you ever use the polishing gloves? You can quickly remove some tarnish with no polish necessary for emergencies. But won't really shine.

Do these options make it really shiny?
I can't seem to do that?

Did they tell you how often you need to laquer them?
And do they look as shiny as regular silver?

I’m not sure about the price you would need to take it to him and ask.
They told me about 4 years but I’ve had pieces that kept much longer.
They definitely look like beautiful clean silver but it’s missing that “diamond sparkle” that you get when your silver is just cleaned.
But that sparkles lasts only about an hour or so anyway 😌

My friend told me about this quick polishing tip.
Put a piece of tinfoil shiny side down ( dull side showing) in a non metal bowl. Put in silver and then pour in baking soda and boiling water at the same time.
Works like a charm

Is there a place in Monsey that cleans and lacquers silver? Or close to Teaneck.
