If it’s all the time? Then yes it’s bad for all the above reasons. Occasional screen time as a reward, especially if it’s educational? Not so bad in my book.

FRankly I'm addicted too and I "can" read a book or do something else. My kids do not have trouble following in school, heck some of them skipped a grade or two (kah). Visiting my cousins I've seen actually some kids who do not peel their eyes off to say hello to someone visiting them from another continent... not all kids are that way
