Is it allowed?
I’m assuming not...
If I order the special kosher meal on el al, can I drink the coffee they give out?

Why would coffee not be allowed on an airplane? Or anywhere else?

Coffee is kosher. Water is kosher. Nothing in it to make it non kosher.

And what could the issue be on el al with the kosher meal?

The Vaad of Detroit holds that the coffee on most airlines is served from treif containers but hot water and the tea bag is allowed. El Al serves kosher.

I read somewhere that hygienically, coffee is not a great choice on a plane. Kosher or otherwise. Here is a similar article https://www.businessinsider.co.....018-4

As far as I know all items on elal flights are kosher. Even those who don't order kosher meals receive kosher food (maybe not strictly kosher, but kosher nonetheless).

I wouldn't think there would be an issue with coffee.

I read the attached article.
That is so gross and disappointing to know
I feel like people don’t know about this.... if they did the airlines would certainly do something about it
