First year with a boy in yeshiva - what's usually done in terms of gelt to an elementary school
rebbi? I live in a large OOT city.

Thanks!

You wrote chanusa gelt- sounds like chasuna gelt. Is he getting married or marrying off? Lol

Unless he is your child, I don't give chanuka gifts to anyone

We live in a large OOT community and $25 is a nice decent amount to give a Rebbi for chanukah gelt. Obviously more is always appreciated. But $25 is great

In my circles $50 is norm for rebbe of kids. They are underpaid & wait for these tips all year.

My sons rebbe called last night. He had my son last year, that child is home due to illness. My next son is by him this year. He called to check up on my son home. Finished convo with " Do not send any checks for me"

For yeshiva boys, in my circle they do an all inclusive gift from entire class together. One collects small amount from all & present the gift to rebbe. I think that it's usually done Purim though.

Probably anywhere from $25 to $100 depending where u live and what your finances allow. Some people who can afford it, give more than $100. (I'm not one of those people.)
