I'm the same OP as the white cabinet thread. We're doing a partial new kitchen do to a Insurance claim. The budget will be tight but I'm interested to hear what small things that you did have made a big difference. I'm trying to get ideas of what I want to try to include if possible. I'm talking about things like specialized type of drawers and anything else you want to recommend!

Drawers for snacks inside pantry
Broom closet
Personally I think the garbage drawer is stupid. It doesn’t hold enough

I agree about the pot filler.
I'm the one who posted about the two-toned kitchen and my Cubitac cabinets.
I'm currently watching my new kitchen be installed.
I didn't think about a pot filler that is installed above the stove until it was too late, but the plumber told me that he can make a hose that is connected to the water supply and sit in the corner of the counter close to the stove. Same like the pull-out hose on a sink. Should be very cool.

Make sure you have a great contractor.
We just got messed up big time. He was nickle and diming us to death and when we wouldn't agree he pulled out. He gave us back money according to what it would have cost him; not what what we already paid. So he made his money anyway. It would cost us too much to take him to court and then we're pretty sure he will close his company and reopen under a new name

Under the cabinet lighting
Drawers
Instant hot
Deep sinks
Off the counter microwaves
Think of where you will store big klutzy items like mixer, food processor, etc.

If you have place an extra cabinet or 2 for some pesach things. I don’t have a pesach kitchen but I have a cabinet in my regular kitchen that has my china, and glasses so the delicate things don’t have to be shelled up and down. It makes things so much easier .
