Im wondering if I should not dress my crawler in fleece bec I can occasionally feel the static electriticy shock when I touch her. Eek! Never thought this would be a problem. Besides static guard are there other solutions to preventing the shock?

Get a humidifier. That helps with SO many things. Skin issues, breathing issues, nose bleeds, static electricity...

Usually not. If the steam is used to heat pipes which heat the air, no moisture is introduced into the air.

Static electricity happens much more often when the air is very dry.

Steam heaters are actually very drying. They don't release actual steam into the air. The water stays in the pipes and only the hot air, which removes humidity, is felt in the room.
