U wanna wear something because I like it?anything you like and is decent looking on YOU is in style. Everyone has got a Different tastes. Different size, different figure. If you put something on because she wears it, it might not suit you well. Not everything that's in Style looks good on everyone. Sometimes an item that's not so in, looks good on you- if you carry yourself well (good figure), it will look trendy on you.
Dusters are not in style.

Develop your own style.
For instance, I wear colorful fit-and-flare dresses because they look nice on me. No idea if they are or ever were “trendy.”

One pieces dresses are very in. Wedding, simcha, shabbos, every day.
Lots of solid black. Black & white. Black & gold.
If 2 piece, for simcha wide short jackets in shiny or brocade fabrics.
Short boots/booties for all ages.
Pom pom hats. Fur hats. Wide knit or fur bands across forehead & over ears for cold.
Box heels back again.
Velvet shoes.
Maroon shoes for every day.
I wear what looks nice on me not what's most trendy

Accordion pleat skirts (mini pleats)
Or dresses that have accordion pleat bottom.
Casual tops that are a bit loosely fitting.
Blouson style tops.
Sweaters that have a piece of blouse or ruffle or accordion pleat sticking out from under it.
Anything contrast like black and white or black and yellow.
Silver or gold are in now. Cream for shabbos or even light soft shades of pink. Magenta is in now too.

What's blouson?
You see most of such styles won't be befitting for me...as I will look even more preg in a loose fitting top....or with something stick out of bottom top...like pleats starting in mid of my stomach. Or any wide, pleated gathered skirt will make me look like 3 houses.
These seems like styles for the the younger set. I leave it for the skinny young ones

I mostly buy long open sweaters or jackets to cover up & not empathise on my stomach.
No drawstring or bands on bottom of my top.
No maternity looking, sacky, hi waisted dresses for me.
No fitted, belted tops or dresses for me.
Straight....is the style for me.

Presumably whatever is in the stores now is what's in style in your area. Now the question is what suits you. What flatters your body type? What colors enhance your natural coloring? If something is fashionable but doesn't look good on you, don't buy it.
