I ordered a pair of shoes (leather loafers with Velcro strap) for my 5 year old. The 9 UK was too small but the 10 is too big. I really like these shoe for the quality and amazing price. Any way to make the big ones fit?
They are loose around the back, they really do seem to be big...

Too big. He’ll grow. The only problem is when they’re huge. With Velcro straps you could tighten them enough.

Put in a full insole or 1/2 an insole with a tongue pad.

Tongue pad if he has narrow heel & foot is falling out of shoe. Insole if it just overall too big.

Loose around the back doesn't sound hopeful to me, if by "loose" you mean wide as opposed to long.
Different brands run very differently so between sizes in one could be perfect in another.

Long, it's longer than his foot.
I know that different brands run differently but this is a nice shabbos shoe for $47... very hard to find a quality, cute shoe for that price! I really want it to work!

In my experience this doesn't work out. I'd buy a different shoe.
