We put her to bed at 7:30 and it takes her a good 1-2 hours to fall asleep. Then she's tired in the morning. What can I do?

I have a kid who struggles badly to fall asleep. (I was like that as a kid too). We've tried melatonin, valerian, etc. None of it helped. Truthfully, the only thing that helps is wearing him out physically. We try to make sure he gets as much exercise as possible after school.

Is she worried about something? My 7 year old ds has anxiety and can't sleep sometimes.

We made our 6 year old bedroom very dark and turned on childrens music. Same cd every night.not very low not too loud We found even a bit of light in the room was keeping her body up. And story tapes the same. It would cause her to think into it .

Is she tired enough when she goes to sleep? Does she have any screen time before bed?
I had this issue with my DD and I started putting her to bed an hour later. It's very seldom that she has an issue falling a sleep.
I also find that when kids had a lazy day and were not so active, they have a harder time falling asleep because they're not worn out enough.
