Sorry for such an inane question, but my kids are very sensitive to being the "clueless OOTers."
For poolwear and other water activities are natives going the way of crocs? As in, only slides now? Trying to get my summer shopping in while there are sales.

What age?
Kids up to twelve either have both or natives. They are much more versatile than the slides

How is it possible for kids to run around or play sports wearing slides?? It makes no sense. It's for the house, like lounge wear.

Kids often do stuff that makes no sense. Anything to fit in.
My son told me this past summer that in camp many kids (around age 12) were walking to games in their slides, holding their sneakers in their hands and then changing once they got to the game. Ridiculous, but they wanted to be "seen" wearing Adidas slides. Go figure.
Not sure I want to give in to this, though, so figured I'd find out what others are doing.

I'm sticking with Natives/Crocs. Slides don't seem practical at all.

I sure hope not. Seems dangerous to me. Natives were already an improvement over crocs in terms of kids running around in things that could get stuck on things or tripped on as the flop around.

For DD going to camp I bought Adidas slides for the shower and swimming. Also a pair of slip on closed Natives as an extra pair of footwear that are waterproof for mud or water activitives or just lounge footwear.
Little DD is not getting slides because of safety.

I’m Getting natives for my 4 year old. I can’t see how these slides will stay on her feet.
