I was eating an organic acai bowl and gave my seven month old 3 small teaspoons, then it hit me to look at the ingredients and raw honey was one of the last ingredients. I am very worried my baby will become sick, I read it takes 36 hours for symptoms to apperar :-(

Infants lack the enzyme needed to kill the spores of bacteria so they could develop botulism.

It happened to my neighbor. He was in the hospital for a few days because of it. Definitely call poison control.

I am sorry that all the replies are quite alarmist. My children all had raw honey before one and never experienced any problems. Talk to your doctor or go to ER if you are concerned. Hatzlacha.

My brother and I, and all of our friends, drove in cars without child carseats, or even seatbelts, and we're all fine. Don't bother to strap the baby in. Angry

OP, she is right on one thing. Your baby is probably OK. It was a small amount of food, and a small amount of honey in the food. Nevertheless, to be careful, I'd call your pediatrician, and keep an eye on the baby.

Let us know how it goes.

She probably doesn’t go to the doctor. She sounds like she’s into natural things.
But in this case it could be a life saver to consult with a doctor.
Although the small amount ingested is probably nothing...

What part of what she wrote indicates that she doesn’t go to a doctor? I must not have gotten the memo that people who eat organic acai bowls don’t go to the doctor. Can't Believe It

My baby reacted to honey at 10 months old. He threw up like crazy. Think concussion style. I was in the Er. He threw up there too. He was monitored for 4 hrs after.
