My daughter had ear infections and fluid for 2 years, I was going to put in tubes but someone recommended I try this first and after just, 2 weeks I saw a huge difference. She stayed on vitamins for years and never had a problem. I gave a teaspoon of each, panto-c and kyolic. I mixed into grape juice and had her drink it with a straw. First twice a day, until it cleared up and then once a day.

DS got an ear infection while on antibiotics. After a year of constant antibiotics I took him to a chiropracter. He kept getting fluid and infection (I took him off different potential allergic foods but it didn't help) until he outgrew it. I think that was much better than antibiotics for another 2 years.

Yes, my pediatrician offers homeopathy as a first line of treatment for most ear infections. We do follow ups to make sure it's resolving.

I've heard that putting a couple of drops of oil into one's ear can help... (definitely harmless if it doesn't work!) Vitamin C can also be helpful.

FWIW, I don't think any of the treatments being discussed are homeopathic treatments - they appear to be "naturopathic" if you need a name.
Homeopathic is taking almost undetectable amounts of the "poison"/infectious agent - diluting it and then administering it as a cure. While there are doctors who mix naturopathic types of stuff, I don't know any who believe in homeopathic medicine.

My pediatrician does. He offers standard homeopathy for certain viral illnesses that would not be treated with pharmaceuticals.

Yes I've had homeopathy be effective for ear infections, especially when combined other broadly naturopathic interventions like diet changes (limiting dairy and sugar, for example if baby eating solids ) And immune supportive herbs and nutrients. It's best to see a qualified ND or functional medicine doc to guide you. Some well done books on herbs are by Mary Bove, Kerry Bone, Rosemary Gladstar, Sheryl Tilgner.
About putting drops of oil in ears, 1. Only do so if you're absolutely sure the eardrum is intact (I.e. hasn't ruptured) and 2. Never use an ear oil that has tea tree oil in it. Plain oil, garlic oil and mullein oil are ok (commercially available). Also Google "onion ear muffs" as a pretty cool and noninvasive technique! Chiropractic work is helpful too, like someone else said.
OP you might get more responses if you post in the natural parenting forum.
