We keep them in the attic and they are usually a little dirty and a few bugs but last year we were away and everything is really covered in bugs and who knows what else. I really don't have a budget to buy everything new so just want to know if washing them in super hot water with lots of soap is enough or if there is another trick to getting these clean enough so that we can use them without being disgusted. Thank you!

I wouldn't be disgusted to eat on them if you washed them well.

So is washing them super well with hot water enough? I have never seen it this many bugs ever! Just wondering if I just use a little bit of bleach also?I will definitely need to find a better way to store them next year.

Use good dish soap not the watered down pesach stuff.
Make sure to seal all dishes in knotted plastic before putting away in a cardboard box. Or buy airtight sealed containers to store them in.

Thanks Ra mom.that is very good advice for next year. I guess I'm just going to have to go buy a pair of really good gloves before I clean them!

Wash them.
Next time, put them away in a storage container with a lid.

baking soda is kosher for passover ... you can use some with the hot water
ditto to covering them tightly in bags along with boxing them & even taping them shut

Seems like this thread accidentally surfaced now. Just wondering, assuming you wash the dishes before putting them away, even if you missed a spot or two, would that be enough to invite bugs? Unless there's alot of significant food residue?
