A woman (in a managerial position) that my husband has worked with for over 20 years knew he wasn't so happy in his current position and when she heard about a new position at a different company told him about it.
He interviewed and just heard back. They offered him the job! It's a much better position with a higher title and better pay.
He wants to show her his appreciation and get her a gift, but he doesn't know what would be appropriate.
Background - she's mid 40's, catholic, married with teenage kids
