I'm meeting up with a relative to discuss a business idea, so it needs to be the kind of place where you can really sit and talk. Not too fancy/expensive, but a step up from pizza or burgers. Can be milchig or fleishig, but if fleishig, needs good vegetarian options. Something near a stop along B/D/F trains. Thanks.

Corner Cafe
Ditmas Ave. stop on F line
Mendelsohns-pizza shop but large enough to allow for a private conversation.
18th Ave. stop on F line

I agree, you can talk and concentrate at Corner Cafe.
It's not a restaurant just a cafe but it's a step up from a pizza shop and good food.

Interesting, when DH took me to Urbana last year, we went at prime dinner time and had a very nice quiet table in the corner, though come to think of it, knowing DH, he probably specifically requested a quiet table. I still think Orchidea, about a minute from the D train, would be a great choice.

Orchidea has a lunch buffet ever day from 12-3 and it’s very busy then
Also they sometimes host private parties or sheva bruchos in evening so you need to call first

Upside burger. It has a cool vibe and it’s relly good food. On a regular weekday it’s not too loud
