What is a normal "budget" for cleaning help for a 4 bedroom/ 3bedroom house. Several kids including a toddler. I'm thinking of about once per week, normal kid messes.

For just one day a week, something between $15 and $20 per hour depending on how many hours. I'd say about $150 a week.

Someone gave me a quote of 140-170 per session (and for the initial session stayed 3 hours) Does that make sense? She didn't even do my bedroom and left out a bathroom.

What’s a session? A set number of hours or does she clean the entire house no matter how long it takes? That makes a difference.

OP, that's way overpriced! The norm in most communities is up to $15 an hour.

I pay $45 for 3 hours, and it’s on the expensive side

This is about what it costs in my area, where cleaning help charge by the job rather than by the area. This is so location specific that it would really help to know where you are. Can you share since you’re another anyway?

Wow! Why so much? We pay $13-15/hr, $16 from an agency.

I guess I've discovered one thing that is more expensive in Lakewood than Brooklyn: cleaning help. I pay $12/hour plus transportation for a cleaning lady from an agency.
140-170 per session sounds a little much. Do you need 10 hours of work or something?!

OOT I paid by job, but it came to be $30 per hour. That’s standard.

I live OOT. My cleaning lady comes once a week for about 2.5-3 hours. She cleans my whole house (5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms) but does not do laundry or change the linen. I pay her a flat $40, regardless of how long she is actually there.

I'm in a small OOT community where salaries tend to be "lower than average" thus, I'm very surprised at what she did.

I'm in an OOT community that has a relatively high cost of living. A few years ago, cleaning help was $25 an hour. That's why I don't have cleaning help.

More relevant is the supply of and demand for home cleaners where you live.
