Hi,
Please help! I'm trying to get knee socks for my girls online and I keep getting the wrong size.
I see that some brands come in 6-7, 7-8, 8-9...
Others come in 2, 4, 6...
I have two daughters, one of them is currently successfully wearing size 6-7, and the other is successfully wearing size 7-8...
What would be the equivalent in the other size system?
6-7... Is a size 6? or 4?
And what is the equivalent for 7-8?
And is there any rhyme or reason here such that I can understand and remember?
Thanks very much in advance!

Oh gosh, it took me years to figure out that there is no rhyme or reason to sock sizing. None.
Every company has their own sizing guide. Some run small, some large, some tall and narrow, some wide and shorter.
Tell us the brand and the child's shoe size (EU) and we can help you.

Thanks so much!
I'm looking at a few different brands... Memoi, Zubii, Blinq.
Their shoe sizes are 27 and 31.
Thank you

The socks they have that fit them well are JRP (6-7 and 7-8).

Each brand runs differently. I give up. Order the larger of the two uncertain sizes and wash them in case they shrink. If they're still too big then at least you can save them for next time.

I don't even know what the two closest sizes are and there is no size chart. What is a 4 in the context of socks?

Ah, you're trying to do the impossible. I buy almost everything on line, but gave up on doing so with socks. I make a trip to the store and badger the saleslady for assistance.

LOL I had no idea when I posted this question that I had finally stumped imamother!
Would love to go to a store but live far out-of-town.
Will try again to google for size charts (have not been successful so far).
I thank you all for validating me! At least now I know it's not just me.

Call the place you're ordering from. They can send you pictures of the back of each pair of socks. Each company has their size chart on the back of each product. And also the front label shows which shoe sizes that pair of socks works for.
If you call a place like Double Header who also has a store their sales ladies might be able to tell you how each one runs.

Thanks.
I did call Doubleheader once but failed to ask all my questions and then didn't get through again.
Anyway I was at least able to determine what the close options are, so now I just have to wait till my order comes and see how I did. (And too bad on the ones that were on sale and are not returnable...)

In Zubi, take a 6 for the 6-7 and 8 for the one who wears 7-8.
This is general but every company and even sometimes different styles from the same company run differently.

Go into the store. See all the sock choices. Look at all the socks in the same size (on the tag) but none are actually the same size.
Panic.
Run out with zero socks....
🤣🤣🤣🤣

I feel so validated now!
On Pesach I opened my daughter's new packages of socks; they were way too big, and I felt so foolish for buying an incorrect size!

It's a disaster. I live at the hosiery store. I buy 1 pair for each kid. Come home, wash, dry (for shrinking) and have the kids try on. Nope, we can't go buy 6 more of the same. Waste of $6. Time to try again. Better luck with size next time? You wish!
