I came home from the allergist with my 1 year old son today. He was diagnosed with severe milk and egg allergy, and more mild to moderate : beef, chicken, and sweet potatoe. I totally have to switch his meals, but I was wondering what people have used/may recommend for his "milk" bottle. I know too much soy isn't great either. Would love to hear some opinions. Anyone use rice or almond milk and have a good experience?
Thanks!

Try to use a variety of milks that you introduce one at a time, allergies permitting. Don’t use just one.

My first four kids couldn't tolerate cow's milk or soy at all. Before my fifth kid, I learned about goat milk formula and tried it. She loves it and had no problem with it. It is different but it depends on the exact allergy. Ask if it is possible. At one year old, the baby will eat more food and just have a little bit of bottle a day, right? It won't be so much for complete nutrition so any pareve milk will do. I suggest staying far away from soy. Get vitamins from a multi or drops added.

Mine if allergic to ask the above + all milk options including pea. We continue to give the elecare formula despite light allergy. He doesn't react to it.

Enfamil Lactofree was the only formula DD could tolerate. It's expensive, and not all stores carry it. I had to find it at a large chain pharmacy. I remember one day, a friend of mine drove me to 5 different stores, with a screaming hungry DD, trying to find the stuff.
After age 1, she was getting enough nutrition from real food, that I could switch her to Rice Dream, as long as it was the vitamin fortified version.

If child is over a year, there is no need to drink milk from a bottle.
