I have a brooklyn public library card. Am I able to get ebooks even if I'm not actually there? I was afraid to do it because they'll see I'm not in NY.

Yes you can download books. There is an App called Libby by OverDrive.

When using Libby by OverDrive, does it use the internet? Only for reading the book. My data for this month is so low and I don't feel that I've been using more than usual except for this app. TIA

You need the internet for the few minutes ur downloading but not to read the book

You are allowed to use the system from outside NY, but those who don't live, work, go to school or pay property tax in NYS have to pay $50 a year for a library card.
