our income is about 115-120 before taxes. we calculated that we will be paying a 3300$ monthly payment (mortgage, insurance taxes) yes it makes no sense, yes I know. we gotta just jump in and make it work. the housing situation where we live in insane. we are hoping income will keep going up iyh (dh is in corporate field)

Manhattan. Mortgage is a bit under 1k. Taxes are about $400 quarterly. Mortgage rate is 5 7/8. Purchased in 2006

Doesn’t monthly mortgage depend on how much of a down payment? I had a big down payment Bh

I live in Brookln. We refinanced two yars ago because needed cash out for major renovation. Current mortgage for $580,000 is $3245 and change. That includes taxes and insurance. Annual tax is $6k and Insurance is around $3k a year. We got a promotional interest rate of 2.95%. Annual imcome is around $115k..but we do have a rental which helps a ton. Will you have rental income?

Others rates will not help your decision . downpayment , mtg rates, price of home , location, taxes all play a role in the numbers. my 16 room house purchased 18 years ago will reflect very different numbers than the house next door with 4 bdrms which sold for a million dollars based on location and current real estate. ( not necessarily accurate numbers but you get the drift.)

Our mortgage is 1800 and tax is another approx 1050 per month.

Our interest rate was 3.625. We put down 20% of the purchase price of 470k.
