around the bathtub there is caulking. but I get what you mean. its probably the same product that cleans both since thats what usually is used cleans it both.
I was just going to post a question very similar. I need something to clean my tile grout in my shower. since everything I put just runs off and nothing really works.

I avoid bleach, and use white vinegar instead.

I used the magic erasers from mr clean on a small area of my floor grout & it worked well. (I was just curious if it would work & tried while cleaning the bathroom. ) I think aything to clean the grout would be tedious & tiresome.

How do these differ from regular toothbrushes?

Oh, they're 10 X stronger!!! They're much bigger than regular toothbrushes and the bristles are really hard.
If you are cleaning grout a toothbrush would last maybe one square, but these last as long as you need them.

After a certain point, caulk has just had it and needs to be replaced as part of normal maintenance.
I had a ceiling to counter mirror in my bathroom and the caulk would periodically need to be cleaned out and replaced with new caulk. It also helps functionality since caulk is used at joints where water could otherwise enter and cause intrusion issues where it enters - e.g. it provides waterproofing.
Caulk on the other hand does not provide any waterproofing which is way tile in a shower needs proper waterproofing BEHIND or UNDER the tiles or it will create huge structural issues as water seeps into the structure of your home.
