Wasn't going to get into but since I am been asked so nicely I'll tell you!
My husband's grandmother's mother's name started with the letter N.
She really wanted us to name our first daughter after her, but dd just didn't fit it. Believe me we tried.
So, we really have to name our next child after her to keep peace in the family - it's all on our shoulders! yeah!
In the book 'What's in a Name', by Rabbi Y.Z. Wilhelm, it states that it is quite permissible to name a boy after a female ancestor as "this elevated her soul from the feminine realm to the masculine realm.' pg 19 end of footnote 1
Although, it is better not to convert a feminine name to a masculine one. Page 18, point 1.
That's the reason I wanted a list of names to choose from, cause it can just start with the same letter and be connected to her!
So again, that you everybody for your help! (and we don't know if it is a boy or girl)

I learned you need a name with similar letters (Dan/Dina), but the best is a male form of the name or similar meaning. I would ask a rav. I never heard of the initial as being a connexion.
