Tell me more, if he doesn't go looking for it, will he be able to avoid it?

Yes. Vegas is like Manhattan, but instead of huge Broadway Billboards you see advertisements for shows and slot machines, which are literally everywhere (gas stations, airports, etc.) Prostitution is not legal in Las Vegas, dispute the incorrect information. Which is why frum Jews shouldn't live in Manhattan.

Is he going by himself, for an expo with a lot of other frum people, etc.? Because if he is, there will be minyanim, food, etc., so he can keep himself pretty insulated.

Was there with husband years ago, for a few days for business. I would NEVER let a man go there without his wife.

Wherever you go it crazy with s-xy girls all over. Very much NOT like Manhattan. The whole place rather looks similar to the signs on top of yellow cabs advertising night clubs..

Not an issue with not trusting. A frum man just shouldn't put himself into such a situation.

my husband went for business. He had other men that went with him. They had barely any time ouside of the show they went for but really enjoyed just checking our the hotels in the area. If you trust your husband, he can come home the same way he went.

Prostitution is illegal in Vegas but the majority of prostitution in Nevada goes on in Vages despite it being illegal.
Prostitution is not the only inappropriate thing in Vegas going on though. It's the whole vibe of that place. The billboards, advertisements, shows, hotels, stores... literally wherever you go and loom there's pritzus & something inappropriate to see. Especially at night when the crowd is drunk. No one will stop anyone from doing something inappropriate and indecent in public.
It has nothing to with trusting your spouse. There are some places where we just don't belong. Why is it so hard for people to accept the fact? The world is big enough, to go to Vegas just for leisure is just wrong.

There is hotel personnel in every hotel in every city that have relationships with "working girls". Las Vegas is not unique in being able to provide extra attractions for visitors. Just go into the bar of any hotel in New York City and make discreet inquiries and you will be hooked up Very Happy

There are no hookers lining the street int the tourist areas of Las Vegas. There are bad areas which have street hookers just as there are areas with street hookers in NY or LA or any large city. As posted, Nevada has legal brothels but not in Las Vegas and so one would have to deliberately travel a good distance to partake.

If you trust your spouse to go out the door, there is no reason to worry about Vegas specifically as a destination. Not sure why he is going there but it is a frequent place for businesses and conventions because they have a lot of facilities and very competitive pricing for events and lodging and it's accessible in terms of flights from lots of places.

Would your DH go to the beach (even just to walk on the boardwalk) in the summer during the day?

If not, then consider this an environment where the (lack of) dress can be similar and worse.

It starts at the airport, so even before he gets busy with the business meetings.

That doesn't mean he shouldn't go, just know what he's getting himself into...

Going to Vegas for work, which is what OP's DH is doing (which likely means a convention/conference) = going to a hotel.

The “gentleman’s” club there advertise with a truck with completely nude girls standing with just a black strip across their breasts to cover nipples.

You need to know which places to avoid.

I’ve been there many times. I’ve never seen anyone be “approached”.

Not saying nothing can happen, there’s lot of tempatation. But unless you’re looking for trouble, trouble shouldn’t find you.

In the strip area, there’s lots of inappropriate advertising but mostly families and old fat ladies going to shows and gambling.

It’s very hot there, so people walk around most u dressed than dressed.

Again, people in Las Vegas in the summer are not dressed any differently than people in any other place. The women are not wearing bathing suits unless you go to one of the pools. They are dressed in what most people consider to be normal summer clothing - shorts, tank tops and sundresses. If you go to a club (and why would he be going there), you would see women dressed in cocktail dresses in the same way they are dressed in a club in NYC.

I am not sure what kind of completely insulated places people live in but if you ride the subway in NYC, you will see women dressed in the same way they are dressed in Las Vegas on the street.

Would you "let" your husband go to Times Square without worrying? He's probably going to spend nearly all of his time in meeting rooms at a convention center. There is plenty of family-friendly entertainment and a thriving frum community nearby.

I live in Los Angeles, and honestly, I feel like Vegas isn't all that different. And we have a huge enclave of frum yidden in LA, and we all somehow didn't go off the derech, the way you all make it sound.

It's hot, so people wear less clothes, but that's summer for you, anywhere. I've gone about five or six times, and there were no harlots on street corners, there were no billboards for anything other than aging once-popular musicians and their concerts at various hotels, mostly advertisements for shows. There's an area, I believe, that's a bit seedier once you get past the popular hotels, but guess what? There are areas in NY that sell particular items and they also have clubs and bars. Did all of you New Yorkers move away in horror? No.

Vegas underwent a metamorphosis a while back to make it more family friendly to bring in more tourism. The only thing that's ubiquitous and gross are the casinos, because I think gambling is disgusting. If your husband is a notorious gambler, I'd be more worried about that than him running to harlots.

I hate to tell you, but this is not true.

They dress worse there.

I was in a hotel lobby and was approached 5 times in 3 minutes to ask for help. Everyone assumed I was a hotel employee cause I was the only person around that was dressed.

As an aside, which doesn't answer your question, I hated Vegas and I am no prude. It really felt like tumah to me. The kosher food was great, though.

That happens to me in stores in NY all the time. Frum people tend to wear different clothing because of tznius requirements. Most people in the summer when on vacation are not going to put on tights, long sleeves, business attire, etc. Amarante is correct.

My story is not the point. I was in Vegas recently. Was 110 degrees. Most people dressed less than ny.

Might be illegal but not enforced.

There are trucks with nude women with just a line covering advertising call girls with a phone number on back bold.

That says I’ve seen business cards advertising call girls on the streets of bp with some pretty explicit pics
