Stopping by in Boston for a couple of hours with my family. I have children of all ages. Can anyone recommend activities for us to do?

I would pick one of the following:
1) Public Garden and Swan Boats (downtown)
2) Harvard Square, Cambridge (Harvard Yard and Natural History Museum https://hmnh.harvard.edu/)
3) Museum of Science and Omni Vision Movie
4) Harvard Street Brookline (not sure which restaurants are open) and Larz Anderson Park and Car Museum (check hours) https://larzanderson.org/
5) Aquarium and Boston Harbor Cruise https://www.cityexperiences.co.....uise/

Agree. For outdoors, Public Garden and swan boats. For indoors, the aquarium, the children's museum, or the science museum, if it helps being out of a vehicle (assume you're driving a distance and stopping en route). And the duck boats if they don't mind more time in one.

You're probably best off bringing your own picnic.
