When baby has bris and we have a bris pillow (envelope style) do we still need a regular pillow? If yes, when do we need to use it? & does it need to fit into the bris pillow? Does it need to be covered with a white case?

Thanks!

None of this has anything to do with Halacha. Do whatever you like.We didn’t have an envelope style bris pillow, I don’t even know what that is. We used my bed pillow in a purple pillowcase—it was brand new and the nicest pillowcase we had. I don’t think the baby lay on it during the procedure—he lay on my father’s lap. But I wasn’t watching so I can’t say for sure. I get kind of nervous with the kid on a pillow since whoever is holding the pillow isn’t holding the baby. I’m surprised people don’t drop the baby, tbh.

It depends on the pillow. Some are actually pillow cases and some have some padding and don’t require a pillow.

Mazal tov!
We had 2 pillows but only used the flat, envelope style one. The other, regular, round one didn't feel stable being big and fluffy. The mohel was super conscious of everyone who held the baby and often put a stabilizing hand on the baby. But so long as everyone was careful, it was fine, bec the 'pillow' was flat and firm.

It's recommended to bring another pillow because often time the bris pillow is too flat/ not supportive enough and the baby needs to be propped up more.
Pillow color doesn't actually matter but white fits in with the theme and looks good for pictures

Our mohel was very specific about what we should bring/prepare. I mean, he didn't care about the decorative details, but IIRC he told us to bring 2 pillows for some reason.

We used a white stroller bunting. It was perfect.

Probably to bring the baby up higher so he doesn’t have to kill his back bending all the way down to the sandek’s lap.
