I like playing Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Forbidden Island. Forbidden Island is great to play with guests because everyone wins together.

Any games with all pieces on the board (no cards, etc), so it can be played while on a sofa?
Otherwise it gets messy/cluttered.

I’m not sure if any of these would work on a couch but they don’t have so many pieces, but they have cards: dominion, splendor, bonanza, codenames ( definitely needs a table)

We love perpetual commotion, it's a very quick card game, better played on a table, but I have played on the couch.

WordARound by ThinkFun.
Not so new, but new to us. There is a finite number of times you can play until you know the cards, but the game is only about $5.

My apologies. When I googled it, the first price that came up was $4 and change. I didn't notice who had that price or look further. Turns out it was eBay.
