Title says it all. I used to love reading , way back in the day . Now for downtime I just chill on my phone but it leaves me feeling gross and like I wasted hours of my life . I need good books. I don’t even know what to say about types of books I like . Historical fiction I guess ..? Pls someone help me .

Depending on what type of historical fiction you can try these authors:
Lynda Cohen Loigman
Jennifer Ryan
Lauren Willig
Their books are more of a light read.
If you are ok with more intense reads you can try Anita Shreve (Sea Glass is my fave) or Christina Baker Kline (the only one of her books I liked was The Orphan Train, but it really packed a punch).

My Not So Perfect Life - Sophie Kinsella https://g.co/kgs/tGQPM6

Probably my favorite all time historical (also suspenseful) novel:
City of Shadows by Ariana Franklin (it is a very intense read, fair warning)

The Nightengale by Kristin Hannah is an incredible book. I listened to it as a free trial for audible.
Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate.
I really enjoyed Yellow Crocus by Laila Ibrahim.
The Kite Runner by Khaled Husseini is excellent, but quite graphic in some places.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett.
