Beef cubes are best in stews.
There are so many kind of stews, what did you put in yours?

Toss 1 pound beef cubes with 2 tablespoons flour. Add whole baby potatoes, baby carrots, sliced rings of onion and crushed garlic. Season with 1/2 tablespoon salt, black pepper and add in a whole bay leaf. Maybe 1 cup boiling water not more. Cook on low in crockpot all day.
If you prefer a tomato sauce version or a barbecue version, let us know.
Or you can cook for shredded beef, it will just take a little longer to shred because of the small pieces. You can stuff the shredded beef into baguettes or serve over baked dough flatbreads.

Do it in the oven at 325 for 2.5 hours. Add a drop of oil.

I make 2 pounds with 1 1/2 cups boiling water and double everything else.
If you like tomato sauce you can add in half a cup and remove some liquid.
Here's BBQ stew.
