Ive had this problem since I can remember. I can put on lots of foundation, no matter what brand, with or without a sponge, and no matter what, an hour or two later, , I look washed out and foundation-free, unless a professional makeup artist does my face with a good primer, and who knows what else.

Id prefer a fragrance free primer.

Any suggestions that many people are happy with?

Try using a moisturizer instead (or in addition).

Also, some BB creams can be layered under foundation instead of being used as one.

Moisturizer first is the trick.

Ive always used moisturizer under foundation.

Hopefully I'll find a solution with a primer or a very good full coverage (budge-proof) foundation.

I love the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation. I use primer or moisturizer underneath.

I have very fry skin. I find that when I moisturize before applying makeup, the makeup does not stay on. It gets eaten up right away.

I think so too. The moisturizer dilutes the foundation (but my skin is very dry so I have no choice). Thats the reason Im hoping Ill find a (fragrance free) primer that blocks the foundation from disappearing.

I use Becca primer if I need it but wearing sunscreen under foundation solves this problem for me and my dry skin. My skin looks better too. If I wear foundation I use Kat von D or Estée Lauder Double Wear.
