Looking for a house and heard of these areas. For reference, I'm yeshivish, but diverse background. In our 30s.

Are you from Monsey? We're looking to buy in Monsey now too, but I know nothing about neighborhoods at all, and don't even think I'm going to try to learn before living there.
I thought Chestnut is one area, Airmont is another, Spring Valley, Wesley, Pomona, etc. Didn't realize they're more sub divided than that.

In each village, there are areas where different "types" of people live. Depending on what you're looking for, the area will matter more or less to you. For example, some areas are chassidish, some are yeshivish, some are a mix, some are balebatish, some are more frum, etc.
