I know a Bat-Chen. She started using her middle name at a very young age. Unless you are actually in Israel and don't think she will ever leave, prepare for people to pronounce these names as if they were one word, no hyphen, the way you'd say them in English. So Batel, Batzion, and Batchen.

Now you mention it, I remember that the only Bat-El I know, is normally known as 'Battle'. And this is in Israel! Apparently she was a very assertive little girl.
And the only Bat-Zion I know is normally abbreviated to Batzi. I think that ruins a beautiful name, but her parents like it.
