Last weeks daf Yomi:
The romans threatened to kill anyone teaching Torah.
Someone asked Rabbi akiva why he is still teaching Torah in public.
He answered it would be like a fish out of water. Ki heim chainu. Torah gives us life.
It terrifies me that we are cutting off our protection. Davening btzibbur, shiurim, children learning, yeshivas learning b’chavrusa.
Obviously we listen to our community rabbanim. But I feel we are so much more vulnerable now.

We are not learning in hiding, or leaving Torah, cv"sh. We are hopefully learning bchevrusa by phone or virtually, davening harder than ever, learning as families, keeping Torah alive.
Am Yisrael chai!

Everyone I know is still learning. The Torah was given in the midbar because it’s not tied to a location. Obviously it’s best to daven b’tzibbur, but the zchus of keeping our community healthy should be great too

This.
Our teachers are online, helping our children learn. Our chavrusas can use zoom or FaceTime or the phone. We can join in a virtual minyan through our shul or others, except on Shabbat. We have had community online havdala.
BH we have ways to learn and be together while social distancing.
