I have been asked to make either an appetizer (not just a salad) or a dessert. Any ideas? Can be easy, fancy, fattening, whatever.
Bring on the recipes. Thanks in advance. Oh yeah, I think someone else is making fish.

I was about to suggest a fancy, thick soup............. but then again, it IS summer. How can I forget when it's almost 100 degrees outside!
How about a poached pair (or half a canned peach) in raspberry sauce? (looks very pretty as the fruit beomes the same color as sauce.... .and then you stick a green leaf in for decoration)
Fancy salad....?
small hush puppy? (kosher by design)
(sorry I'm only throwing ideas, and not giving recipes..... these are some things ppl made for us when we got married)

if its summer u could make a CHILLED soup - either as an appetiser or 4 dessert, depending whether savoury (eg vichysoisse) or sweet (fruit soup)...

how about sesame noodles in a martini glass with a swkewer of BBQ'd meat set in.
looks nice
or a mushroom knish with a sauce
