My kids have an inordinate amount of play-doh; think 50 buckets. (Grandma, I'm looking at you, and not kindly)
Today I took out a couple for them to play with and there was ***mold*** growing in them.
So my obvious reaction is
Then my science mind noted that only the mixed colors grew mold; the colors that they haven't yet touched are fine. And not all mixed colors were afflicted with the fungal growth, only some. I considered doing further research as to which colors were most affected, but favored just throwing out the whole immediately.
Has anyone experienced this before? Or maybe the better question is - has anyone tolerated play-doh in their house long enough for this to happen?
The good news is that I now have a legitimate reason to trash 10 of the buckets, leaving my kids with a measly 40 canisters of the nightmare-inducing toy.

If its from the mixed colors then yeah, dirty hands and mouths... It does contain wheat after all.
Clean or new colors make sense to be fine.
