Shed?
They say that most viruses are contagious till 1-2 days post fever. Is this as well?
And then what if I didn’t have fever?

The NYS DOH told us that we must quarantine for 2 weeks after the positive test. So if you're not tested, I'd say 2 weeks after first symptoms.

We were told two weeks after the beginning of symptoms by 2 different doctors.

I’m a healthcare worker. The epidemiologist at my hospital told me 72 hours symptom free, earliest being 7 days from onset of symptoms.

Am I considered symptom free if my cold is not totally gone?

That’s a symptom!
But it is very confusing...

Either way you should all be staying home so not really changing much is it?

I want to know when I can start breathing without a mask on my face & my hand washing/purell squirting went up from my regular 749 times a day to 1263 with covid and about 1439 now.
So I wouldn’t mind a little less alcohol on my chapped hands

I realize my post above comes across as selfish and petty, especially to all those in the trenches...
So I just want to publicly proclaim that I am grateful to Hashem I’m healthy and can breathe on my own, and that I have soap & running water etc etc.
That being said, I have some other reasons I need to be out of contagion point, and was just trying to make light of it...
Gezint to all

Do you have a way of verifying if that is general advice? That may just be for healthcare workers who are needed back whether contagious or not.

Yes, but once I’m no longer contagious I can go to the grocery store and feed my family fresh food and have normal milk again. I can go down to the mailbox and pick up my mail. I can go for a walk without worrying about infecting everyone the same way

I’m already 10 days post positive test and almost 3 weeks from start of the symptoms and don’t see an end in sight. Still have SOB and cough. My DH started a week after me. Also still having symptoms. I couldn’t get a clear answer from the DOH on when I can get out. I’m ok with the supplies for now, but I have to shop for Pesach at some point.

It changes a lot.
We've been home with colds for almost two weeks.
We haven't been outside for food, we haven't mailed a letter, or taken out money.
Stores haven't been delivering, instacart is overbooked. I've been making do with what we have canned and frozen and we're down to our last apple.
So it would really be helpful to know if we MUST stay home or if we're simply advised to stay home.
(ps I think the store will now agree to deliver to us, and instacart will be here in a week iyH, so we're bH not up a creek)
