Would you go to the dentist these days if you have pain in a tooth only when you chew?

I would, in a heartbeat.
I am currently clutching one side of my face right now, and wondering what on earth I can eat that won't be excruciating. It's an upper tooth, and the pain is shooting right up into my sinuses.
Aside from holding a clove against the sore area, does anyone have any ideas on how to manage the pain? I'm living on Tylenol right now, but I can't just keep taking it indefinitely.

Yes.
Definitely
If you can get an appointment.
Who knows when this will be over.
Go before the pain gets worse.

If you have an infection, it must be dealt with quickly.

If you're willing to take risks and not grossed out, you may be able to fill your own tooth.

My son had a tooth pulled last week.
He's scheduled for a routine f/u after pesach. We'll see if that's cancelled.

Just called my dentist today with severe tooth pain. He’s officially closed since last week but will come in for emergencies. He listened to what I described, checked up my records of recent visits and xrays. Actually told me I prob have a sinus up infection causing it, should give another couple of days. If still in pain we’ll go in to take care of it

Definitely. Far better to deal with it now than risk it becoming suddenly unbearable and treatment being even harder and riskier to obtain.
I had an endodontist appointment last week and am so glad I went. They were taking every precaution in office, as did I.
I wouldn't go for a regular check-up, and my cleaning with the hygienist was cancelled, but for something like pain you should most definitely go. Trust me, an emergency root canal is no fun at all even in the best of times.
