Seems like yes, but I believe there's a 14 day quarantine for everyone entering the country- so G-d forbid if he's nifter, you may be able to get his body on a flight but you won't be able to accompany him to E"Y

I have a relative who was niftar this week in NY and buried in Israel. For now there are still flights going to Israel and arrangements can be made for a meis to be transported but family members are not allowed on the flight unless they have Israeli passports, and even then there is no guarantee that they would be allowed to return to the US for shiva. On the other end the chevra kadisha checked to make sure no one at the kevura came from overseas. They were allowed to have exactly a minyan there.

I am so glad you asked this question. I had the same thoughts but did not know whom to ask !
my father is 92 and my mother is 87 They should continue to be well to 120.

I dont remember where I read that Israel now considers every niftar that comes from abroad to have Covid 19 so they will wrap the niftar in 2 bags and not allow for a taharah.
Just make sure this is not the case.

I'm the OP of that post.
BH the funeral took place and I have a lot of respect for the dedicated chevre kadisha people carrying out their duties. We had to provide authorities with a letter that my FIL did not die of corona virus. Nevetheless, I saw that they were all wearing gloves which I don't think they usually do. (I did not attend the funeral, I'm in high risk due to age. My daughter attended and videoed the funeral)
I heard that as of this evening El Al is stopping all commercial flights. And nobody else is flying to Israel.
If anybody needs the name of an excellent, frum funeral director in South Florida feel free to pm me.
