We're switching over today... We still can use our oven because we're not planning to kasher it, but no sink and I'm packing away the chometz dishes. Does anyone know if/how I can cook plain pasta in a disposable pan in the oven? I don't have sauce and I don't want to use cheese--I don't have a lot and some of my kids don't like it.

TIA!

I’ve done it. Make sure it’s covered in liquid. Use a little oil. Cover tightly for around an hour.

I meant the oven--I no longer have access to a stovetop. (I make lasagna all the time but I lack ingredients and it won't satisfy my eaters... So looking for how to do plain pasta.)

Thanks Forestgreen, do you have a sense of how much water, does it matter? Will I need to drain afterwards anyway?

Should be completely covered. No, you don’t usually need to drain but it can get dry so make sure there’s enough liquid.

Oh I just saw that you don't have access to your stove anymore for chometz. We boiled up noodles on Friday before we changed over the kitchen m"s so we could use cooked noodles for the kids over the next couple of days (heated in the toaster with sauce and cheese for some). I guess that doesn't help you though, sorry.

I guess you can try to cook it in the oven covered with water. Can you boil the water first? Then maybe mix with a bit of olive oil and spices.

Don't know if this is an option but I just cooked up some in my microwave and it was great.
Place pasta in microwaveable dish, flavor, and add water to cover plus approx 1 inch.
Put on high for 10 minutes, open and stir and then continue for another 3-5 minutes.
I was pleasantly surprised how easy and good it was!
