(I hope this is an approved mundane kvetching zone.)
At this point in my Pesach prep,
The way I do it every year,
We've switched to toaster oven food
And the kitchen zone is clear.
We're eating lots of cereal
And rice cakes with spreads or cheese.
Canned foods and bags of chips
On the porch, only, please!
But this year we ran out early.
No crackers; tuna I can't get
We're low on chicken, meat
So I can't stop cooking yet.
Creating meals from scratch
From my bare pantry instead
I may have to make pita
To keep my children fed.
We skipped our last NY run
(Social distancing, see?)
To get the kosher foods
That we can't buy locally.
The stores here are pretty empty
And there isn't much to buy
Plus we already did too many trips
For another to justify.
To keep the sink and counters cold
For 24 hours straight
We may have to impose a fast
Cuz it's too long to wait.
We've already had pasta
For most of the previous week
I'm also hungry and grumpy
As something new I seek.
So the point of this whole vent
In this whole long rhyme...
Daven for us that we manage
To kasher this year in time!

I turned over early (the 24 hours was over Shabbos) and I am giving my kids Pesach food. First year I did this but I was afraid to turn over later given the food insecurity.
I heard that you can eat egg matzah in the house until (Erev?) Pesach because it’s not chometz.
Along with that it’s eggs, cheese, lady fingers, leben, chocolate milk, chicken, potatoes and veggies. And some meatballs.
Very tricky because today we had real chometz for lunch on the porch - I never did that before (keep a Pesach kitchen and also allow chometz).
